Faith, it’s the easiest and the hardest thing. It’s easy once you take that leap and truly put your trust in the Lord to have faith that he will uphold all his promises, uphold you. Well, it’s easy until something hard comes along; you get sick, there’s a job loss, a divorce, you’r faced with something unplanned and unpleasant. Then faith gets a little harder to have, we begin to question and doubt, maybe our faith gets shaken a little bit, maybe a lot, hopefully not at all. It’s what you do when this happens that really matters. Do you give in to that shaking, let it defeat and destroy your faith? I pray not! Instead turn to the word, the Lord, to prayer! Draw closer to Jesus, let him teach and guide you through the challenges you face. Remember that even the disciples felt a shaking a time or two, Jesus knows that we are human, weak at times, babes in faith so to speak and he was very clear about how we should handle trying times.
Now in the morning as he returned into the city, he hungered. And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away. Matthew 21:18-19
And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away. Mark 11:20-21
And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away! Matthew 21:20
And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. Mark 11:22
…Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, … Matthew 21:21
That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. Mark 11:23-24
And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. Matthew 21:22
And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying, Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water. And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him. Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me. And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour. Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Matthew 17:14-20
And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith. And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you. Luke 17:5-6
Have faith, God’s got this! As always may God bless and keep you!
