It’s By Choice

This was the text preached on tonight at church, it was exactly what I needed to hear.  We have faced much ridicule, judgement and persecution because of our faith, that we strive always to love God with all we are, honoring, serving and praising him in all we do.  That means we don’t do the things we used to, we no longer follow the world but Christ our Lord and Savior instead.  Because we live in this world but aren’t of it it’s hard sometimes, we are tested, face trials and tribulations, but we know that it’s all part of ole slew foot trying to make us stumble, backslide, damage our walk, our testimony.  And instead of letting the deceiver, that old liar win we praise God through it all.  Whatever comes our way we praise him, because all those trials and troubles they don’t really matter.  What matters is that no matter what happens here on earth, I’m a winner, I still have my sweet Lord Jesus everyday and I can serve him, honor him, praise him no matter what because he saved a wretch like me.  Even with my last breath, last mortal thought, I will praise my Lord.  Tonight’s text reminded me of what I know, at a time when the trials are many, they are piling up and it would be easy to be all woe is me.  But instead of feeling bad about them I think they mean I must be doing something right, Satan and his world wouldn’t waste their time on me otherwise so I just praise God all the more for every blessing in my life, for every breath, every laugh, every hug, smile, kiss, for fresh garden produce, a healthy family, and for all the doors God opens even as others that only hide pain and suffering are shut.  I praise him for loving me, and I look up prayerfully, anxiously awaiting his return.

Matthew 16&24

Wherefore girding up the loins of your mind, be sober and set your hope perfectly on the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;  1 Peter 1:13
as children of obedience, not fashioning yourselves according to your former lusts in the time of your ignorance:  1 Peter 1:14
but like as he which called you is holy, be ye yourselves also holy in all manner of living;  1 Peter 1:15
because it is written, Ye shall be holy; for I am holy.  1 Peter 1:16
And if ye call on him as Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to each man’s work, pass the time of your sojourning in fear:  1 Peter 1:17
knowing that ye were redeemed, not with corruptible things, with silver or gold, from your vain manner of life handed down from your fathers;  1 Peter 1:18
but with precious blood, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot, even the blood of Christ:  1 Peter 1:19
who was foreknown indeed before the foundation of the world, but was manifested at the end of the times for your sake,  1 Peter 1:20
who through him are believers in God, which raised him from the dead, and gave him glory; so that your faith and hope might be in God.  1 Peter 1:21
Seeing ye have purified your souls in your obedience to the truth unto unfeigned love of the brethren, love one another from the heart fervently:  1 Peter 1:22

For, All flesh is as grass, And all the glory thereof as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower falleth:  1 Peter 1:24
But the word of the Lord abideth for ever. And this is the word of good tidings which was preached unto you.  1 Peter 1:25
