Tonight we will be looking at the next major constellation of the Mazzaroth, Libra, and it’s three decans. Libra is depicted as the balance scales which stand for fair payment, justice and equality. It points to the required price paid for our sin by the precious blood of Christ. Christ is the Redeemer who paid the full price for our sin as we see in scriptures.
The Hebrew name for this constellation is Mozanaim, meaning scales, weighing. In Arabic it is Al Zubena, the purchase, or redemption, or gain. In Coptic it is Lambadia and means house of propitiation; the same word in Arabic is Lam meaning graciousness and badia or branch – yet again pointing to the atoning grace of the Branch. The name of the star on the up side of the scales is Zuben al Genubi, the price deficient and the star on the other side that out weighs it is Zuben al Shemali or the price which covers. Other stars are Al Gubi, heaped up high, and Zuben Akrabi, the price of the conflict. Another star is simply called Tau, the last letter in the Hebrew alphabet, which is written as a cross and signifies the completion.
Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. Isaiah 44:6
Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification. Romans 4:25
Libra’s first decan is Crux, the Southern Cross. This constellation looks like it’s name being defined by four stars in the form of a cross. It is no longer visible from the nothern latitudes because the earth has shifted gradually over time; being last seen on the horizon of Jerusalem at the time of Christ. It appears as a distinctly striking formation in the darkest part of the sky. The Hebrew name, Adom means cutting off, and refers to Christ being cut off from His Father as He bore the sins of all the world for all time upon the cross that day at Calvary. The very image of the cross of Christ was written in the stars all along for all to know and believe that Christ is the only Lord and Savior, man’s only hope.
And while they abode in Galilee, Jesus said unto them, The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men: And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again. Matthew 17:22-23
And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots. Matthew 27:35
Next is Victima the slain victim Christ – laying down His life for our sins, seen here as the slain victim being pierced by the Centaurus who represents Christ giving us a picture of our Savior sacrificing Himself. He told us in scripture that He would do so, he was willingly slain for our sins because He loved us so and the Father willingly accepted His sacrifice as payment in full for our sins.
As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. John 10:15-17
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13
The final decan is Corona, Corona Borealis, the Northern Crown, and it is vertically over Jerusalem once a month. This symbolizes Jesus or Lord and Savior who sacrificed Himself and is crowned King of Kings.
These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful. Revelation 17:14
As always my beloved brothers and sisters in our sweet Lord, may the Father bless and keep you.
